1. Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King! Peace on earth, and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!" Joyful all ye nations, rise, join the triumph of the skies, with th' angelic host proclaim "Christ is born in Bethlehem."

2. Christ, by highest heav'n adored; Christ, the everlasting Lord, late in time behold him come, offspring of the virgin's womb. Veil'd in flesh the Godhead see, hail th' incarnate deity; pleas'd with us in flesh to dwell; Jesus, our Immanuel!"

3. Hail, the heav'n-born Prince of peace! Hail, the Sun of righteousness! Light and life to all he brings, ris'n with healing in his wings. Mild he lays his glory by, born that we no more may die, born to raise us from the earth, born to give us second birth.

Refrain: Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King."

The PDF file above contains the musical score for the version of "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" that we will be performing.

**PLEASE NOTE THIS CHANGE: We will be singing the first THREE VERSES only!**

There are eight locations on the art walk trail within a block each direction from 8th and P. The lead singers will be loosely congregated around the corner in front of Ten Thousand Villages, with a secondary group positioned on the corner to the west. The rest of the singers (i.e., the choir) should try to stay in this general vicinity (one block from each direction of the corner). To help increase the appearance of spontaneity, please act the part of a typical shopper/restaurant goer/art walk participant until the lead singers begin, at which time, please turn your attention to the lead singers. Lead singers will signal they are about to begin by lighting candles before they start singing. Once the lead singers have started singing, the entire "choir" should sporadically light their own lights (candles lit off a neighbor's candle, a cell phone, a flashlight, whatever form of light you want to use), proceed (from all 4 directions) to the corner in front of Ten Thousand Villages, and join in the singing sometime after the beginning of the first refrain. We will be singing in harmony, so please practice your "part" prior to the practice date.

This Christmas festival (to benefit the People's City Mission) will be going on in the Haymarket at the same time as our flash mob:
Keep the heavier event traffic in mind while planning for parking and transport timeand you maybe even want to consider going to the festival before or after our event!

Even if you couldn't make the practice, you can still participate! Just practice your part for the refrain and the last two versus, and join with the singers at the first instance of the refrain or after. Let's make a joyful noise!
